Low Square (DIN 562)
Equivalent Standard: UNI 5596
Square nuts are fasteners with a square shape and internal threads, designed to fit onto bolts or screws with square-shaped shafts. This geometric design prevents the nut from rotating once engaged, enhancing stability in applications where vibration or rotation resistance is crucial. Square nuts are commonly used in woodworking and certain construction projects, offering a secure and reliable connection. Their square shape facilitates easy tightening with a wrench, ensuring efficient and precise installation. These nuts are available in various materials, such as steel or stainless steel, catering to diverse applications across industries where robust and stable fastening is essential.

DIN 562
Metric DIN 562 thin pattern square nuts are four sided nuts. They are thinner than their DIN 557 counterparts. Similarly, their geometry provides a greater surface area to apply higher torque when tightening and also a greater surface are in contact with the part being fastened, thereby increasing the resistance to loosening. Being thinner provides the advantage of being able to fit into tighter spaces. BRK Industries offers the following sizes for immediate delivery from stock: Diameters ranging from M3 to M10.
