Hot Dip Galvanization(HDG)

Hot Dip Galvanized Fasteners Manufacturer in India

BRK Industries is a trusted Hot Dip Galvanized (HDG) Fasteners Manufacturer and Exporter in India, offering premium-quality bolts, nuts, washers, threaded rods, U-bolts and structural fasteners designed for long-term corrosion protection. Our HDG coating process creates a thick metallurgically bonded zinc layer that protects steel fasteners even in harsh outdoor, industrial and marine environments. Unlike paint or electroplating, the zinc coating becomes part of the steel surface, providing both barrier and sacrificial protection against rust.

Whether your project involves bridges, transmission towers, solar mounting structures, highways or heavy engineering, our HDG fasteners deliver exceptional durability with minimal maintenance.

What is Hot Dip Galvanizing?

Hot Dip Galvanizing is a surface treatment process in which steel fasteners are immersed in molten zinc at approximately 450°C (842°F). During immersion, zinc reacts with the steel to form multiple zinc-iron alloy layers topped by a pure zinc outer layer. This metallurgical bond makes HDG significantly more durable than ordinary zinc plating.

HDG coatings also provide cathodic (sacrificial) protection, meaning nearby zinc corrodes first if the coating is scratched, helping protect the underlying steel.

Hot Dip Galvanizing Process for Fasteners

Our fasteners undergo a carefully controlled galvanizing process to ensure consistent coating thickness and reliable performance.

1

Surface Cleaning

Fasteners are cleaned using alkaline solutions to remove oils, grease and contaminants. A clean surface is essential for proper zinc bonding.

2

Pickling

The fasteners are treated in an acid bath to remove rust, mill scale and oxidation from the steel surface.

3

Rinsing

The components are thoroughly rinsed to eliminate residual chemicals before the next stage.

4

Flux Treatment

A zinc-ammonium chloride flux is applied to prevent oxidation before galvanizing and improve zinc adhesion.

5

Molten Zinc Immersion

The fasteners are immersed in molten zinc at approximately 450°C, where zinc and steel react to form durable alloy layers.

6

Spin Galvanizing

Smaller fasteners are centrifuged immediately after dipping to remove excess zinc and maitain proper thread fit.

7

Cooling & Inspection

Every batch undergoes visual inspection, coating thickness verification and quality checks before dispatch.

Benefits of Hot Dip Galvanized Fasteners

Superior Corrosion Protection

Thick zinc coating protects steel in humid, industrial and coastal environments.

Complete Surface Coverage

Molten zinc coats corners, edges and threads more uniformly than many alternative coatings.

Sacrificial Protection

Zinc corrodes before steel, helping protect scratched or exposed areas.

High Durability

Alloy layers resist abrasion during handling, transportation and installation.

Long Service Life

Designed for decades of reliable outdoor performance with minimal maintenance.

Wide Temperature Performance

Suitable across a broad operating temperature range in many industrial environments.

Frequently Asked Questions

Hot Dip Galvanizing is a process where steel fasteners are immersed in molten zinc at around 450°C to create a durable corrosion-resistant coating.
Service life depends on the environment, but HDG coatings are designed for long-term outdoor protection with minimal maintenance.
Yes, they are widely used in coastal and marine environments because zinc provides sacrificial corrosion protection.
Common standards include ASTM F2329 and ASTM A153 for hot-dip galvanized fasteners.
Yes, they can be painted to create a duplex coating system for additional protection.
HDG provides a thicker metallurgically bonded coating suitable for outdoor applications, while zinc plating produces a thinner decorative coating.
