Dacromet 320

Dacromet 320 Coated Fasteners Manufacturer in India

Dacromet® is a zinc and aluminum flake coating, typically applied using an inorganic  chromic acid solution as a Binder. Overlapping Zinc & Aluminum flakes provides excellent barrier, Thus use of Dacromet® coated Nut Bolts is considered to be ideal for applications that have high corrosion resistance requirements. Dacromet® coated screws is that the coating exhibits good heat resistance while offering a low friction coefficient.

The danger of hydrogen embrittlement does not exist. The Dacromet® coating process takes place in an aqueous media, where the application of the layer takes place with the dispersion of chromate zinc flakes in an aqueous dip-spin process. The coated layer is then dried, followed by subsequent burning at a temperature of 300 °C.

The Dacromet® Coated Fasteners also exhibit superior resistance to mechanical damage.

Dacromet® 500 also has a Self  lubricant.

What is Dacromet 320 Coating?

Dacromet 320 is an inorganic zinc-aluminum flake coating system that protects steel fasteners through multiple protective layers. The coating is applied using a dip-spin or spray process and then cured at high temperatures, creating a durable protective film with excellent corrosion resistance.

Unlike traditional zinc plating, Dacromet does not rely on electroplating, making it especially suitable for high-strength bolts where hydrogen embrittlement can become a concern.

Why Choose Dacromet 320 Fasteners?

  • Superior Salt Spray Resistance
  • No Hydrogen Embrittlement
  • Zinc-Aluminum Flake Technology
  • Heat Resistant Performance
  • Excellent Thread Accuracy
  • Longer Service Life

Dacromet 320 Coating Process for Fasteners

Our Electro Zinc Plated Fasteners undergo a controlled plating process to ensure consistent coating quality and excellent surface finish.

1

Surface Preparation

Fasteners are thoroughly cleaned to remove oils, grease and contaminants.

2

Shot Blasting or Cleaning

The surface is prepared to achieve proper coating adhesion.

3

Dacromet Coating Application

The zinc-aluminum coating is applied using a dip-spin or spray process, ensuring uniform coverage even on complex fastener shapes.

4

Centrifuging

Small fasteners are spun to remove excess coating and maintain accurate thread dimensions.

5

Heat Curing

The coated fasteners are baked at controlled temperatures to cure the coating and develop its protective properties.

6

Inspection

Each batch undergoes quality inspection for coating consistency, thread compatibility and surface finish.

Frequently Asked Questions

Dacromet 320 is a zinc-aluminum flake coating that provides excellent corrosion resistance without hydrogen embrittlement.
Because it is a non-electrolytic coating, it helps avoid hydrogen embrittlement associated with some electroplating processes.

Dacromet provides a thin zinc-aluminum flake coating with excellent thread accuracy, while Hot Dip Galvanizing produces a thicker zinc coating for structural outdoor applications.

Automotive, railway, wind energy, heavy engineering and construction industries commonly use Dacromet-coated fasteners.
